COURREGES
With new leadership since 2011, legendary French fashion house Courrèges is combining a fresh, entrepreneurial spirit with their space-age couture to stake their spot back on the scene. Co-presidents Jacques Bungert and Frédéric Torloting have stated their intent to reinvigorate André Courrèges’ famous label, so popular in the 1960s. The brand was famous for its futuristic style, birthing fashion mainstays like go-go boots, miniskirts, and their trademark Inuit sunglasses, which have just been rereleased, along with some other eyewear models, in partnership with Alain Mikli (find them at Colette)! Other news: Courrèges Millésimés, a boutique dedicated to vintage pieces, has opened adjacent to their flagship store at 40 rue Francois 1er, and a pop-up shop was launched inside Galeries Lafayette last week. Located on the first floor of the Boulevard Haussmann store, the shop presents ready to wear, shoes, sunglasses, fragrances, and a new line of leather tote bags bearing the original Courrèges logo!
