Later this month, Sun 28 Aug, is the Hindu festival of Ganesha, celebrating the birthday of the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. A colourful parade will take place through the streets of the 18th arrondissement, with music, dancing and a bright chariot carrying a sculpture of the elephant-headed god and led by barefooted faithfuls along a route first purified with roses and saffron. The parade begins at the Temple Sri Manicka Vinayakar Alayam, 17 rue Pajol, at 11am. Find the detailed itinerary here.
Sun 28 Aug, 11am-3pm.
