JEAN-PAUL LESPAGNARD AT GALERIES LAFAYETTE
For his first exhibition in Paris Till We Drop, opening tomorrow, the quirky Belgian fashion designer Jean-Paul Lespagnard invites visitors to explore his creative process. Drawing from his Spring/Summer 2014 collection of the same name, this exhibition evokes the exuberance at Mexico’s giant Mayan Riviera hotel and expresses the artist’s take on this artificial paradise, a world steeped in euphoria, sin and freedom. Dressed as a bee and using a series of installations, Jean-Paul Lespagnard takes us on a guided tour of the rituals and customs of impulse tourism, freed from all material contingencies. On top of the show in the Galerie des Galeries exhibition space, you’ll also find visuals from this project in store windows along Rue de la Chaussée d’Antin as well as the store’s first floor.
