MISERICORDIA
One-of-a-kind French-Peruvian ethical fashion brand Misericordia has just opened its first flagship on Bastille fashion strip, Rue de Charonne. The 10-year old brand delivers high-quality urban apparel with an ethical and human message, and already has prestigious collaborations under its belt, like manufacturing polos and t-shirts for KrisVanAssche, or producing a limited-edition shirt for the Centre Pompidou with designer Mattali Crasset. The store’s striking monochromatic interiors were designed entirely by the founder, Aurélyen. Text detailing the brand’s history is silkscreened onto the parquet floor, and the dressing rooms are installed inside a 19th-century antique confessional, refurbished and painted in black. The space offers a wide range of men’s and women’s casual clothing and alpaca knitwear, handmade by locals from the Peruvian capital, Lima, and reasonably priced from between 40 to 250 Euros. While you’re there, be sure to check out the lookbook on the countertop – it features photos of the craftsmen who made the collections on display.
