Paris Quartier d'Eté 2011

With its future hanging in the balance, the 21st edition of the city’s international, interdisciplinary performing arts summer festival opens on Thu! Some highlights include free concerts from London folk singer/songwriter Lail Arad, ‘Flesh and Blood & Fish and Fowl’ from Philadelphia fringe theatre duo Charlotte Ford and Geoff Sobelle (free performance 8pm Thu 14 at the Maison des Métallos, pick up your free double pass from 6.30pm on the day), ‘The Manganiyar Seduction’, a powerful show from a caste of muslim musicians who traditionally performed for the kings of Rajasthan in India, a week of jazz concerts (21-27 July) in the lovely outdoor Arènes de Montmartre, and three pieces from French contemporary dance hero Angelin Preljocaj, ‘Empty Moves Parts 1 & 2, Annonciation… Find the complete program here.
